Staff Only Club is a members-only bar in Taipei. Members (which they call staff) must clock in on arrival with their membership card. Luckily, non-members can still get in with a travel pass but you won’t get priority so may struggle to gain entry on weekends.
Although its entrance isn’t hidden it’s certainly easy to miss and the exclusive entrance policy is very much in style with the prohibition era. To get in, you have to go up a fancy spiral staircase where you’ll be presented with a room full of velvet chairs and large glass windows.
The exclusive feel doesn’t stop at the entrance policy, throughout the bar, the décor and furniture are luxurious but still keeping that speakeasy-style 1920’s vibe. I especially love that they have unique Staff Only Club napkins with fun quotes on them.
The cocktails are well made and they also serve small appetizers, although you’ll want to ensure you have a proper meal before going as they won’t fill you up.
