Best Speakeasy Bars in Singapore

Singapore is full of fascinating things to do in the evenings, from the light shows at Gardens by the Bay to the dancing fountain at Marina Bay Sands. But for those who prefer getting off the beaten tourist trail, Singapore has lots of speakeasy bars waiting to be discovered.

📍 The Other Room, 320 Orchard Road, Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel
A hotel bar done like no other, The Other Room is all about sophistication and craft

There are some speakeasies that are just trying to be a cool place for tourists to check out, but The Other Room is about an all-encompassing VIP experience. This small bar is tucked away in the Marriott Tang Hotel and gives off a classic exclusivity, thanks to touches like the elegant gold lighting and the intriguing mirrors.

This speakeasy was founded by master bartender Dario Knox, who has won many international competitions when it comes to the art of the cocktail, so you can expect a certain level of craft here. The most unique aspect of The Other Room is the fact that they cask-age their spirits, and it’s one of the reasons that the speakeasy has become so popular in Singapore.

📍 The Spiffy Dapper, 73A Amoy Street Second Floor
Follow the sign for freshly ground coffee and you’ll find over 100 varities of Gin – makes sense right!

From the outside there is no indication that Spiffy Dapper is anything more than a coffee shop, but follow the sign for ‘freshly ground coffee’ and you’ll be greeted with a speakeasy offering an incredible selection of alcohol including over 100 varieties of gin. But if you did fancy that cup of coffee, don’t worry as it’s also a coffee shop and a gastro pub too, you’ll never need to leave! With reasonably priced cocktails, diverse grows and some 1920’s music to accompany the evening, Spiffy Dapper is a real hidden gem.

📍 Operation Dagger, 7 Ann Siang Hill, Singapore, 069791

It’s no secret that many speakeasies all around the world take their cocktails seriously, but Operation Dagger is constantly experimenting in a way that proves that they are ALWAYS trying to create the next great cocktail for their customers.

This speakeasy bar has the vibes of an old chemist. There’s no name on the door and the menu doesn’t tell you what kind of alcohol is in the drinks, you rely on the old medicinal bottles on the wall with hand scribbled writing to find out, this all adds to the sensory experience. The food is delicious, but the focus is clear: to concoct the most incredible drinks in the world. Of course, this does mean that you will be paying more than usual.
