Howl-O’ween: This Prohibition-Style Bar in Edinburgh is holding a Halloween Party for Dogs

New to the scene in Edinburgh, Cask Smugglers is a prohibition-style bar in the old tourist information center on top of Waverley train station.

To celebrate Halloween, the team behind the bar are launching Howl-O’ween, a spooktacular party for you and your four legged friend. The event will take place all day on October 31st itself, giving you plenty of time to prepare.

Owners are encouraged to dress their beloved pups up and enter them in to a competition where they could win grooming vouchers – what more could a mans best friend want! Your imagination is your limit, expect Yorkshire Terrifiers, Werewolves and Phantom Poodles amongst other breeds.

After a long renovation, the new bar opened it’s doors earlier this year and has positioned itself as a pet-friendly establishment with a prohibition vibe and great views across Edinburgh.

With the promise of special dog-friendly beers as well as the usual adult-friendly selection, Cask Smugglers is sure to be a hit amongst pet owners over Halloween.

Unlike most speakeasy bars that opt for a discreet entrance, Cask Smugglers prides itself on being ‘hidden in plain sight’. But inside, the exposed walls, dimmed lighting and rustic decor are a nod to prohibition era.

Cocktails such as Porteous Mob and Belly of the Beast are served alongside authentic Latin street food from Peruvian chef Carlo Carozzi.
