At the intersection of speakeasy bars and tiki bars (who knew there was such a thing?!) is San Diego’s False Idol.
In true speakeasy style, the entrance requires you to head through a walk-in chiller located in craft and commerce. The chiller has some nice surprises, including fake human skulls.
Once you’ve made it through the weaving building, the immersive tiki theme begins, with wooden wall carvings, an incredible ceiling full of coloured lanterns and, of course, the usual tiki bar cocktail favourites.
